Remove the dressing and refresh the medicine every day; in later period, the medicine could be refreshed every 2 days.2) If there is infection or necrotic tissue around the wounds, they should be removed firstly, and wash the wounds with H2O2 or (75%) alcohol.If the wounds have developed to fistulas, the infection and necrotic tissue should also be removed firstly and wash the fistulas a few times with warm normal saline; bath the dressing in antibiotic medicine (such as Metronidazole) liquor and cover the dressing on the wounds; 1 days later, use the ointment as condition 1).3) The fistulas could be filled with the ointment. The ointment in them should be neither too much nor too less, make sure that as much as possible parts of the wounds could get in touch with the medicine, also some space should be left to keep the airway open.4) During the process of using the ointment, some “purulent secretion” would appear on the wounds; generally, they are not infections and please just remove them with swab. Diabetic Foot Ulcer:From Jan. 1, 2004 to Jan.1, 2008, there were 38 diabetic foot patients accepting treatment in Diabetes Department of Shaanxi 215 Nuclear Industry Hospital. Among them, 6 patients were of 4 to 5 grade Diabetes, 32 patients were of 3 or lower grade Diabetes; and 32 patients achieved an obvious effect (84%), 29 patients have been completely treated (76%).Cases:(1) Yao, Male, 63 years old, has type diabetes mellitus for over 15 years. He suffered the diabetic foot for 1 year and couldn’t find an ideal treatment. 56 days after he using the Ointment, the wounds healed completely. (2) Yang, Female, 58 years old, has diabetes for 10 years. In the Chinese Spring Festival of 2004, she hurt her foot because of the rub of wearing a pair of not suitable new shoes. The wound had hyperpyrexia for over 72 hours, which caused the necrosis of her fourth toe and festering & swelling on her instep and penetrating fistula under foot. The clinical diagnosis was: 4th grade Diabetic foot ulcer, sepsis, and amputation was originally suggested to save her life.While in our hospital, under the help of those systemic adjuvant therapies such as anti-infection and controlling blood sugar etc, she used the Ointment for 56 days and saved her feet finally. (3) Wang, Female, 63 years old, has type diabetes mellitus for over 10 years, also has Diabetic complications of peripheral neuritis and diabetic retinopathy.
